"No youurr a live journal"
30 November 2008 @ 11:59 pm
Such a revival day today.
I really enjoyed it.
So much catching up. Which is a good thing.
And also, a day of making new connections. Another good thing.

(Yes this is me. But I guess I don't really need to see this because apart from the fact that nobody probably reads this, you all know me anyway)
I wish I could actually wear my fur coats In this shitty country.
Apart from the fact that it's too hot, I'm sure someone will throw something on it.

Livejournal has just become the place for me to get fashion pictures now.
It's all I do.
I used to post a lot on here. But I guess I'm not much into writing now.
Sometimes I wish I could just fast-track my life. Just skip to the part when my first collection is out, going to the fashion week parties with some skinny boy on my arm. Oh dreams. They are such necessary but depressing things.
Sorry for being so philosophical or wordy or whatever. It's not usually like me.

I can't beleive how long it's been since I've posted on here.
I totally used to be all about it.
Now I just use it to read other people's, how one sided of me...

I've been listening to She & Him alot at the moment.
It's Zooey Deshanel's album with M Ward, so so magical.

I really want to bleach my hair, but I think it will probably look really wrong on me..
And plus, I'm really paranoid about my hair falling out or something..

So that time came again that is was BDO once more.
only this year the difference was one of the acts for the day was my band.
exciting i know.
and believe me it really was.
i had to get up at 6am in the morning as we had to get picked up at 7.30am to be there by 8ish as we were playing on the green stage at 11.
when we got there we went around the back of the green stage where all the artists tents and things were.
we had our own little tent section with our name on the front.
our neightbours included the sleepy jackson, little birdy and i heart hiroshima.
we were the first on the green stage that day so our setup was genrally easy.
we sound checked and we off by 10 when the gates opened.
so at 11 we got on stage and it was so awesome.
like we had lots of friends there but not only that, there was like just lots and lots of people there anyway.
deffinately the biggest crowd we have had, maybe modest mopuse was the same but anyway.
it was just so great to be on a stage that bands like sleater-kinney and the GO! team played on last year and the same stage as like kasabin this year.
the crowd was just totally awesome for our whole set and it was mayeb the best show we have had almost.
so anyway, now on to the more important part, the other bands.
i had an 'access most areas' wrist band for the day so i got access to pretty much everysatge except the main stages.
not that i went side stage much. i like big day out the normal, exhausting way alot more.
so i watched i heart hiroshima next and they we totally coolio as per usual.
then we went to lily allen in the boiler room. me and roxy did the best weaving like ever because we like basically got to the front barrier.
lily was fucking awesome, like really awesome. i loved that she had a live band too instead of like backing tracks.
next i went and watched the sleepy jackson side satge with our A&R craig who is also sleep jackson's A&R person. isaw craig nichols from the vines whilst i was watching this and he is like majorly fat. like huge belly fat with like fat arm and a double chin. i barely recognised him at first. he was even fatter than he was at splendour.
after that i stayed side stage for kasabian! the were like totally awesome-o. they just like put on such a good performance.
but what was up with some random drunks throwing beer cans onstage, it fucking made australia look really bad in my opinon.
at least the lead singer was all like "fuck you" to the guy who threw it at him whilst the rest of the band kept playing the song.
but all and all i think they liked the crowed and they seemed to have had a great show.
next i went to the killers with roxy.
it was lame to the max though as we weren't really close enough for my liking.
we were like on the outside of the main stage barrier basically.
what sucked most though was the shitty crowd. i'm sure the people right up the front were getting into it but where we were everyone like was boring, it seemed as though they were just there for the fact that it was the killers, not becuse they liked the music.
at the end of the killers we moved over to the entry of the main D barrier so we could get closer to muse.
this was totally fucked.
there were so many people trying to get in and it took like 30 mins maybe to get in.
but i was good when we did because there was room to move and we got to sit down during jet who were terrible.
like i don't mind jet but they like sucked, it was all the lead singers fault though.
so muse were next and it was just as good as it could have been. i wan't really a fan of muse until like 6 months ago so i don't know like verylyric or anything but they still were fucking amazing. like their stage presence was so great and their music really suited the big stage festival kind of thing.
after that i went to the presets in the boiler room. i didn't go all the way to the front but i went to like the middle where the sound desk is.
they were really great obviously, but the only thing that annoyed me about their set was when they played like theses two songs that went for like at least like 7 minutes each and they were just like borning tchno for the whole song.
but anyway, they got me back after that with girl and the sea and others.
and after that i went back to our tent and we wnet home soon after the violent femmes finished.
all in all, a great day.

This is an awesome-o review of our modest mouse show.
" Listed as 'with special guests' on the tickets, support slot Operator Please were a pleasant surprise. The mostly female, all teenage Gold Coast smash indie sensation wasted no time at all on stage, bursting into their high-energy, quirky rock songs like seasoned pros. This band is nothing short of amazing. Their vibrant stage antics and flair for unconventional songwriting was more than a match for any of the cliched hipster bands expected for a Modest Mouse opening slot. For a few songs, members of Modest Mouse themselves could be seen side stage, visibly impressed - energy like this is a hard act to follow. The band's set touched on upcoming releases but mostly drew from their current 2 EP's. The set highlight were the virtuoso rapid-fire violin solos, especially in closing song 6-8 - and how many rock bands have violin solos? Somehow lady violinist Taylor grabs far more cool than kitsch. Operator Please finished by winning a tough crowd, and good on them."
cool huh.
so is the person who wrote it, he's quite awesome.
